Greyson
"Grey"
"At his 18 month checkup, his pediatrician was concerned with some milestones he was not meeting and recommended him to be tested. On April 2019, Greyson was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
As of date, Greyson is in early intervention therapies to help with his disorder. Greyson’s speech is mostly affected. He does not have the vocabulary of a two year old and sometimes he can become angry if he does not get what he wants. It can be difficult for him and everyone else around him."
"Greyson is a full of life. He loves giving hugs and enjoys laughing. He enjoys playing with blocks and wooden puzzles. The most memorable moment I can remember is when he said “mommy” to me and it was evident he knew who I was."
"Greyson is in speech therapy, ABA therapy, occupational therapy, and developmental therapy. It is hard to get him to therapy at times. Sometimes its hard to fit therapy into schedule without mom leaving work. I also find it hard to go to seminars and other autism events due to lack of sitter. It takes a lot as a mom of an autistic child and finding reliable childcare can be difficult. Donating to Respite helps moms have the opportunity to pay for a sitter to attend autism events, seminars, or just needing a break."
